My favorite author, Rick Riordan, published another bestselling book, The Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle. It is a humorous sequel series to the Heroes of Olympus.
The Hidden Oracle is about the god Apollo (huge ego) who has been exiled from Olympus as a punishment for earlier faults. He falls into a garbage dump as a mortal. The only way to get back to Olympus is to work for a demigod. Apollo then finds a demigod named Meg who claims his service and assists him in getting to Camp Half Blood (a camp for demigods). Soon Apollo learns about mysterious disappearances, voices in the forest, and cut of communication between the Roman camp. The Oracle of Delphi does not work either - and Apollo is to blame. Finally when Apollo's children go missing, he agrees to on a quest to retrieve them and sort everything out. But what he doesn't know is that there is a traitor in the midst of the chaos and the enemy is not who he thinks it is.
I enjoyed reading the book. It's full of suspense and mystery. We meet old characters and fight new monsters. In comparison to the last books, The Hidden Oracle is not as adventurous and action packed. But it is very funny and sarcastic. Although Apollo is humorous, he is a bit weird and awkward. This book definitely not as good as the last 10 books (which you probably should read before reading this one) but it has a good hook and leaves the reader in suspense throughout the book.
